I’ve never been one for making New Year resolutions; I think it stems from years of trying to lose wight and failing. This year I do want to think of the year ahead and have some ‘house’ goals. I’m hoping that we can complete the house renovation and begin to enjoy what we have done.
Before I look forward to the coming year and all the things I want to achieve in the house, I thought I would share some of my favourite photos from this year. When I look at the house, I can’t actually believe how much we have done!
The first projects to be finished were the laundry room and the downstairs loo. It is so lovely to have a place to leave the ironing board and no one can really see or to leave piles of washing on the floor and ready to wash!
Then the lounge and office. The pink colour scheme just seemed to evolve but has made it’s way into most of the rooms downstairs! I still want to replace the rug in the lounge but haven’t found one I like enough to justify the expense.
Next was the kitchen. This was the room I most wanted, I feel like Ive waited a very long time for it, but it was well with the wait!
And finally for 2017 was the dining room. This was a relatively simple job compared to the rest of the downstairs.
So what will 2018 bring? I do have a masterplan and hubby assures me we can get it all done in a year! The first job is to convert the bedroom that we used as an office before the extension, into a family shower room. If you follow me on Pinterest, you can check out all my ideas there, but it will be something like this:

After that, we will be knocking walls out again to combine our tiny en suite shower room and family bathroom into one en suite bathroom.
Thats the major work done upstairs, then just to decorate three bedrooms and the final job will be to replace the staircase with this beauty:
Achievable? I hope so. We won’t be working away from home after March, so that should make things easier than this year, but our first grandchild will be born in July, so of course I may be a LITTLE preoccupied with that! 2018 promises to be an amazing year! I hope it does for you too!
