Dining Room Mood Board

Now that the kitchen is almost finished, we will be decorating the dining room next. This won’t be such a big job as it’s quite a small room and we will be keeping the table and sideboard. Even so, I have yet again turned to Pinterest for inspiration, although I’ve got to say as we move through the house and a theme is developing, decorating is becoming much easier!

This is how the dining room looks at the minute:

You can see it’s desperate for an update! We will be continuing the oak floor into the dining room and painting the walls white, like the other downstairs rooms.  I still love the table, so this will be staying, but we are going to change the chairs for white ones like these tulip chairs

As the walls will be plain white, I want to create some interest with a new take on a gallery wall. This stepped arrangement should work well and the black frames will give a nice monochrome look.

I’ve recently discovered a great online seller for art work and I’m considering these two prints to bring a touch of colour.

And to add some real life greenery, this faux plant. I went with faux as we don’t use the dining room much, so might forget to water a real plant!

These gorgeous white candle holders will be my table centrepiece:

So if we put all of these pieces together, this is the look I’m hoping to achieve:
